I figured I would go ahead and give you a taste of what might be on one of my more anticipated releases of this year. The Avett Brothers from Concord, NC are releasing their Gleam II EP on July 22nd on Ramseur Records followed by a release party at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, NC. This EP is intended to quench the thirst of their adoring fans until they can finish their next album hopefully with it coming out next spring. The Avett Bros released their last Gleam EP between their awesome LP entitled “Emotionalism” and the preceding Mignonette. Not much is known about which songs will be on the second Gleam EP, but I heard “Murder In The City” last November when I caught the Avetts in Ithaca, NY. This is a beautiful song and I have heard that it will be on the upcoming Gleam, which the band confirmed during their performance at Bonnaroo. The next link is to a recent performance that the Avetts gave on KEXP out of Seattle. The first two songs on this broadcast are tracks that could make the EP and then a brief interview breaks up the recording before the Brothers play 3 more old favorites. I will make sure to follow up when the second Gleam arrives, but until then enjoy these possibilities…

KEXP Performance – 05/19/2008 – The Avett Brothers
Here are a couple of other new tracks recorded at their recent Norfolk performance… “Laundry Room” and possibly “Finished” as a working title for the second…

Tim
Thanks for the files
btw, the second song of the interview/performance is a Tom T. Hall song, not an original of the Avetts
